One thing that I find so fascinating about India is, the spiritual side. The majority of the population practice Hinduism (80%) but also Buddhism and other faiths known as Jainism and Zoroastrianism. These are new for me! I didn't realize it but Buddhism is one of the oldest religions extending beyond 1000 B.C. Now that's going WAY BACK! This spiritual aspect of India is one that I hope to be able to explore when I'm there.
The other part I am looking forward to is the landscape! I have heard many stories and have seen wonderful photos of the Himalaya mountains, but I can't wait to see it with my own eyes! I'm also very interested in the Tibetans and their quarter in the northern part of New Delhi as well as Upper Dharamsala or McLeod Ganj, the home of the Dalai Lama. I hope I am able to travel that far north and west. So much to see and experience in too little time! Check back for more info and photos!
